Channeling in the Highest Self: Pre-Eclipse Musings

we’re on the brink of the first eclipse season of the year.

Can you feel it?

Time is weird.
Expanding & contracting.
Rushing & freezing.

Intensity is the norm.
Emotion thick in our voices.

The coming set of eclipses are sure to be felt.

One thing you can always trust about eclipse season: it will be exactly what it it’s meant to be; it is exactly what it is.

Intense transformations.
Meaningful & needed releases.

The New Moon in Pisces on March 10 will be our first true initiation into eclipse season.

This deep, oceanic lunation is an Elder Moon,
calling in ancient wisdom,
anchoring our stories into the future.

In the ebbing and flowing tides of this moon, we have the distinct opportunity to channel in our highest self as we begin to navigate these eclipsed skies.

There are a few things I turn to each eclipse season,
to anchor me into optimism,
to prepare for the changes afoot,
and to soothe my frayed edges.

ANCHOR INTO OPTIMISM

The foundation of this practice hinges on a nourishing, supportive morning ritual. There are 3 major components:

  • Drinking a glass of water (bonus: sliced lemons!)

  • A meditative moment

  • Writing three pages in your journal

Anything beautiful, self-romantic, devotional, relaxing, or pleasing can be added to your desire, but these three are the holy grail.

Drinking water is an obvious one. We are water-beings. Starting your day off with hydration wakes every cell in your body in the best way possible. Lemon slices work to decalcify the pineal gland, opening your mind more completely to inspiration and insight.

A meditative moment can last 30 seconds. It can last 30 minutes. Let it be what it wants and needs to be. I like to bring one hand to my heart, and one hand to my stomach and breathe to my heart’s content.

I also use this time to see what’s coming through. Where does my mind wander? What is my heart whispering to me? What is my body saying (or sometimes, with chronic neck pain, screaming)?

Writing three pages is actually an adaptation of the practice from The Artist’s Way, but it’s been part of my ritual long before I knew about the book.

(Once upon a time, I was reading cards in a shop downtown, and a woman came in, beelined for my setup in the back of the store, sat down and said, “You need to be writing three pages a day.” I said, “Sorry? Me?” And she said, “Yeah, I just had to come in here and tell you. I’ve been doing it, and I can just tell you’re supposed to as well.” And then she left. I found no explanation other than the simple fact: sometimes people are angels. I listened.)

The practice I developed since that day is to start off by freeflow writing. Whatever comes to mind, goes on the page. Let yourself be human. No judgment about what comes out on the page. Once you’re starting to feel complete, or struggling to think of what to write next, intentionally invite in your highest self.

What does the most enlightened version of yourself think about things? Either what you’ve just written, what’s going on in your life, what your next steps should be, what you’ve been feeling. Inquire within.

Without thinking about it, translating it, explaining it, allow it to come through you and onto the page.

This is how I’ve devised some of the most incredible, important, and influential plans in my life. It’s how I’ve fallen in love with life.

This is an essential part of my self-care through eclipse season.

PREPARE FOR THE CHANGES AFOOT

The next crucial element of my journey through eclipse season is gaining an understanding of the astrological imprint of the season.

My mentor, Virginia Rosenberg’s eclipse offerings are some of the most potent additions to my spiritual development. Each eclipse season as a team, we dive into the energetics of these lunations and emerge to share the wisdom via our PDF guides and live gatherings.

Virginia’s live eclipse circles are medicine.

The insights she weaves with and translates are clear, actual, and true. I can’t remember the last time I navigated eclipse season without her perspective, and for that, I am so grateful.

There are two options for support –

but I highly recommend the live sessions. Nothing like moving through these portals held in community.

SOOTHE FRAYED EDGES

Each eclipse season, I find myself drawn toward a specific trove of allies, and this time, I am really feeling Blue Lotus, Apophyllite, and Ocean Jasper.

I placed this trio on an altar just a few days ago, under divine inspiration, and ever since, I’ve been entranced. Visions of this Trinity lull me into my dreams.

Although I’m not quite sure exactly what these allies are beckoning me to create, I promise to keep you posted and dive into the energetics of each in a future post.

Keep an eye out for the New Moon in Pisces forecast,
interlaced with special announcements.

In addition to offering both oracle and astrological readings, I’m also a professional spirituality coach and a Reiki Master. I’m ready to hold the exact space you need, whether the focus is on…

understanding the astro-details,
demystifying the path ahead,
unwinding into deep emotional healing,
diving into your spiritual business,

and more! Don’t know what appointment type is right for you? Let’s talk!
