Key Astrological Events in Virgo Season 2025

August 23 ✧ New Moon in Virgo

Exact at 02:06 ET, this New Moon in Virgo was an initiation on the isle of Avalon, awakening us to our soul’s calling.

This was the first of two times that the moon will be new in Virgo, and marked the gateway of Eclipse Season – featuring a Total Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon) in Pisces on September 7 and a Partial Solar Eclipse (New Moon) in Virgo on September 21. In the wake of this moon, use this time to get your mind right as we approach a season of transformation + cosmic reset. The changes ushered in under these Eclipses will continue to unfold for the next 6 months. Center in clarity.

August 25 ✧ Venus enters Leo

From August 25 through September 19, Venus is in Leo, bringing our intentional awareness to our heart-center. Leo has a reputation for being in the spotlight, commanding the center of attention, and while this can absolutely be one way that Leo resonates in the world, what sticks with me the most about Leo energy is the way they are so proud of the ones they love. They share their warm glow so willingly and freely.

The planet of love, beauty, and romance flitting through this heart-ruling sign and dancing with the flames can truly bring us into a state of celebration of love, of desire, of passion, of our creative potential. This is a transit of charm, of intrigue, of charisma. Bask in the Venusian glimmer.

September 1 ✧ Saturn Retrograde re-enters Pisces

On September 1, Saturn Retrograde dips back into Piscean waters until making its final departure on February 13, 2026. Saturn in Pisces is a masterclass in bringing structure to the waters, bringing idea into form, dream into reality. This will be our last experience with Saturn in Pisces until April 2052. This means if you have Saturn in Pisces natally, your Saturn Return is officially coming to an end.

September 2 ✧ Mercury enters Virgo

When Mercury enters Virgo, he is right at home. From September 2 through September 18, get clear. Communication doesn’t have to be a labyrinth you navigate in the dark. Let Mercury in Virgo guide you into effective, wisened conversation, in collaboration with the Divine. Mercury in Virgo is one of three rulers of the first Eclipse of the season, ruling the Sun in Virgo + linking frequencies with Neptune in Aries and Jupiter in Cancer who rule the Moon in Pisces. This constellation of energy builds as we approach the Total Lunar Eclipse in Pisces a few days later.

September 6 ✧ Uranus stations Retrograde

Uranus Retrograde starts in Gemini on September 6, re-entering Taurus on November 7, and stations direct in Taurus on February 3, 2026. Uranus’ station this season is a significant part of a greater re-spiraling, re-coiling. Do not let yourself be discouraged if you feel yourself backsliding in some ways, especially where Gemini and Taurus rule your chart. This is a natural phase of rebuilding a better world, a mission that is vital and life-giving for the humanitarian Uranus. Let yourself slow down and be still, despite the outer chaos.

September 7 ✧ Total Lunar Eclipse in Pisces

The Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on September 7 (exact at 14:08 ET) brings us to our knees. With Jupiter in harmonious aspect with both the Sun and the moon, we are likely blessed with an answered prayer – at the cost of what no longer serves us. This is not a threshold we can cross, whilst clinging to outmoded paradigms, circumstances that are slowly drowning us, or with a stubborn clench in our jaw. This Eclipse demands surrender, with the promise of a holy moment to come.

I believe that Eclipse Season is a time to really be with the magick that is alive, rather than inflicting our own will. Specific manifestations often come at too high a cost, as Eclipses carry a (albeit Divine) chaotic, trickster frequency. Instead, decide what you’re offering to this Eclipse. What are you bleeding out onto the altar, laying bare under the strange light of this Moon? Then, be open to the magick and the mystery of Miracle.

September 13 ✧ Mercury Cazimi in Virgo

While September 13 is the peak date of Mercury’s conjunction with the Sun in Virgo, this transit is active from September 5 through September 18. When Mercury is in the heart of the Sun, we open our awareness to profound insight, divine downloads, and channeled communications, especially along the Virgo-Pisces axis. Let your experiences from the Lunar Eclipse crystallize, come into full form in your consciousness. What do you know, now? This is a great day for visioning, journaling, attuning to the cosmos, and becoming the oracle.

September 18 ✧ Mercury enters Libra

From September 18 through October 6, the planet of thought, communication, and travel enters the sign of balance, aesthetic, and relationship: Libra. In Venus-ruled Libra, Mercury is diplomatic, eloquent, and harmonic. As we wade through the Eclipse portal, Mercury encourages creative problem-solving, holding space for nuance in perspective, and seeking justice. Be aware of a tendency toward conflict-avoidance, indecisiveness, or fawning. Mercury in Libra rules the final eclipse of the year – the Partial Solar Eclipse in Virgo on September 21.

September 19 ✧ Venus enters Virgo

The day after Mercury enters Libra, Venus moves into Virgo, creating mutual reception between the two planets, opening an infinity portal of divine communication and right relationship. Although Venus is in its Fall in Virgo, meaning that the planet’s natural resonance is somehow burdened by the sign, I actually quite love Venus expressed as the priestess in Virgo. There is a cosmic dance to be done here, to unwind Virgo’s predilection toward perfectionism, analytics, and specifics, but its a dance we can learn together.

Venus remains in Virgo from September 19 until October 13, and the crystalline coven is gathering to celebrate Venus’ entrance into Virgo.

September 21 ✧ Partial Solar Eclipse in Virgo

The Solar Eclipse in Virgo peaks at 15:43 ET.
